All seeds will have their own individual instructions on the packet, but generally, you’ll take these steps:

Soak the flower bed.
Sow the seeds. (The packet will tell you how deep and how far apart.)
Firm the seeds. (Press lightly into the earth.)
Mist the flower bed.
After planting:
Cover the bed with mulch to keep the soil moist and protected. You can use grass clippings or buy straw mulch.
Save the seed packets for reference. Keep all the packets for each flower bed taped to a sheet for a quick visual map of what’s planted where.
Watering:
After the seeds are planted, keep the flower bed moist until the plants are grown. Water morning and evening, or once every evening and really soak the beds.
Seedlings:
Seedlings emerge in a week or so. They all look very similar at first, but within a few weeks you’ll be able to distinguish which plants are which.
Weeding:
Once you can confidently recognize which seedlings are your plants and which ones are weeds, you can begin to weed the beds.
